Kornish pasties on sale in Malta, €1.60
British holidaymakers are surprised to find pasties for sale in Malta that are very much like the Cornish pasty. They have the usual shortcrust pastry but the filling is not traditionally Cornish. They contain a meat that resembles shredded corned beef with potato that is probably mashed to hold it together. There are also sweet corn kernels, peas, and small pieces of cubed ham along with small pieces of peppers. Apparently, they don't have the same taste as traditional Cornish pasties!
